Annual Fun Day & Walk - Taumanu Reserve, Onehunga - 29 March 2026

Meeting place: Carpark on Orpheus Drive - look for The Club flag. The Club gazebo and picnic area set up is not far from the carpark on the reserve. There are toilets here.

Getting there: From North, take Northwestern Motorway to exit 8B for State Highway 20 S toward Airport/Manukau, thru Waterview tunnel. Take Exit 16 Hillsborough rd. Turn right onto Hillsborough Rd and turn left into Carlton St, slight left on Frederick st and then right into Seacliffe Ave which continues onto Orpheus Dr and head to far end, next to toilet block.
Walk Route: Walk starts at 10.00 and will take about 60 minutes. This reserve is a tidal estuary with a partially paved path , generally easy with some steps. It has a great scenic outlook with amazing views of Mangere Mountain. There is a playground and beach area as well as a skateboard ramp. It’s an onleash reserve but there is a free range off leash area alongside the lagoon - but dogs must be controlled.
After the walk there will be a BBQ sausage sizzle and salads for lunch, along with sweet treats and drinks plus some fun and games for humans and hounds ( with prizes for the winners!). And our Committee member Manako will also delight with a beagle dance and training display….
But wait- there’s more! After lunch , we will draw the raffle with some amazing prizes to be won for you and your four legged friend.

Ray is selling raffle tickets which can be purchased on the day - please bring cash - tickets are $5 or 3 for $10. The prizes are great and it also helps fundraise your Club.

Please note: The lunch is free for Club members , otherwise it is $5 - look for the Club cash tin.
Watch out for a roaming lucky dip operating for dogs - our roving Fun Ambassador Gavon will have a box of goodies you can dip into for a surprise gift for the pooches.
Please bring water and poo backs for your dog. This day will go ahead rain or shine!
